On the top of my 1985 E-42 mast are 2 horizontal tangs facing forward at about 30 degrees port & starboard. They are for hanging blocks for halyards. One of my tangs has a U-bolt and block but the other does not.

I'm looking for the bolt hole size and spacing so I can buy a U-bolt before going up. Saving me a trip if possible.

Anyone know the bolt hole spacing & size of the tang up top?

On the E37 (Kenyon), I have the same tangs, and I also added a U-bolt and block. I use one block for my spinacher, and one for my furling (which cured a problem of the jib furling hanging up by moving the block out in front of the jib).  I have a picture, if that would help, but I don't want to tax the forum's resources unnecessarily.
While I had the mast down, I measured the holes 1 3/4 center to center, with a 3/8 diameter of the bolt itself.  That isn't how they measure U-bolts, however, and by the time I decided I needed to add the block for the jib, it was stepped and I had trouble finding something matching those dimensions.  If others give you similar dimensions, I would assume them to be ballpark figures, invest in several U-bolts of close sizes, and take a drill up the mast to ream out the holes a (just a tad) to help them fit.  I can't remember which one actually worked, but it was close to the original measurement I took.
