I have seen hulls cut apart and worse to repair/replace water tanks
Endeavour 43 'Australia 31' tank finally leaked
I cut out two panels in the top  leaving one inch either side of the baffle plate and got inside and ground out all the thick corrosion to bright aluminium with power grinder and coarse disks wearing a good mask.
Then lay 1/4 inck glass with West epoxy on missing tank bottom and one layer of cloth on sides with 3 coats of West System epoxy
I put panels back on with aluminium strip and self tappers and west system and cloth to seal
BUT  WEST forgot to tell me to scrub the finished tanks with sandpaper to get rid of bloom so water tasted.  A charcoal filter fixed this and water tanks are 100%   at a small cost to my ancient body as I crawled in and out of the tanks.

Very Happy

lol. Well I guess thats one way to do it.

I just cut them out and replaced with Ronco poly tanks. Thecapacity is down from stock but once a watermaker is installed won't matter much.
I also replaced the shower sump with a ronco tank as well. And now have the option to make one of the tanks (old T tank in bilge a diesel or a water tank. Built it from aluminum for either. but once I put something in it it stays that fluid... so I have to be sure.

Sorry to hear your boat has been for sale for so long.
Why is it so difficult to find a new owner for you ?
Good luck.
Bob
