I'm thinking of replacing the hatches on my 82 E40...........
I can get LEWMARS at a fair price...... any thoughts on this?
And since the hatches are "sitting" on a teak strip, should I varnish these strips before bedding down the hatch or just leave it bare?
Thanks!

If the Lewmars fit they make decent hatches and ports. Yes, if you plan on sealing the teak do it before hand. I'd also consider rebeding the screws under the bungs. Ours looked great but started to leak so we dug out the bungs, rebed the screws, put in new bungs and sealed the teak with Cetol. No leaks. Looks great. But we kept the old Atkins-Hoyle hatches and only replaced the gaskets. _________________ Paul Uhl

OK, got the new LEWMARS but they didn't fit, about an inch of, couldn't make 'em work, very dissappointing, that would've been easy!
So now we're gonna rebuild the old hatches, powder-coat, replace gaskets and lense......... |
