I'm looking for ideas for a new countertop.........
I'd really like to use either GRANITE or QUARTZ.... anybody have any experience with these?
Thanks!

| Replaced ALL counter tops on E38CC with a Corian like material from Lowe's. Really easy to work with, hardest part removing all trim molding and cutting out hole's for undermount sinks. Looks great and did it on the cheap for under $500 |

Marble and granite are not only heavy but a tad brittle and require some maintenance. Most new boats have Corian tops because the are attractive and are low maintenance. They're lighter as well. _________________ Paul Uhl

I just covered my counters with ceramic floor tile---purchased mahogany and edged the finished counters with 2-1/2 inch strips, extending 1 inch above tile. Counters are slightly larger because the fiddle boards which were an inch back from the edge and an inch thick are now gone! You need the woodworking skills to make and miter the edge boards, but floor tile, grout, adhesive, mahogany, varnish, etc cost me less than 1oo dollars and counters look great. |
