My helm seat has a custom backrest at the coaming. A good addition. BUT, the seat position overall is too far from the wheel for comfortable steering, especially under power over time.
I'm looking at options for adding a regular seat. I'll probably have to extend the bench out in some fashion so the seat can slide forward. The seat needs to stay out of the way when steering standing up. I'm also thinking of adding a flipdown foot rest.
What is your helm seating like? What do you recommend? Pictures?

I just have the stock E40 seat. Most of the time I use autopilot so its no worries.
I recently purchased 2 Thermarest sleeping pads and the seat option to make into pretty comfortable seats and they extend out for a nap as well.
Worth a look.
But I find that sitting behind the helm is not comfortable and unnecesary except in crowed harbors, or when changing course.
