SmellsTip: Buy a dehumidifier from Home Depot and leave it running on your boat, draining into the galley sink while you're not there. The boat as well as your noze will be be much happier. Of course this only works if you have access to 120v

Smells I have found to be a significant factor on my boat, almost keeping me from purchasing her.
I have found that the bilge was nasty, and the heads were foul beyound belief.
I have removed the aft head, holding tank and related hose. There is now no smell in the aft cabin.
I have removed the T tank and cleaning the bilge, will paint with bilge coat, and replacing the shower sump with a contained poly water tank of 9 gal. for showers and A/C drainage. This will pump out with a whale pump.
On order is the new rairitan elegance fresh water macerating head which will use fresh water for flush. I have a new Ronco holding tank, trident sanitation hose, and a purasan for the foreward head. I think I will leave the aft head without toilet for now. Saves me some cash. One head is enough for a 40 foot boat I think.
So far I am very pleased with the direction of my progress.
Early June with are going south to Mexico. Should be fun.
