Removing an Endeavour 40 stancheon

I need to remove a lifeline stancheon on my Endeavour 40 and am wondering if the srews are bolted to a backing plate or just wood screws into wood and fiberglass.

Thanks for any info.

Lifeline stancheon

Yes the stancheons are through bolted with finder washers as backup. You may get luck and the 5200 that was used may hold the nuts and washers in place while you remove the 4 bolts. At least that is the configeration on our 42.

Good Luck

Stanchions

I am currently replacing all of my stanchions on the port side of my 1987 E42. All of the stanchions on my boat had steel backing plates drilled & tapped fiberglassed into the hull deck joint. Four of the bolts were stubborn and had to be drilled out so I will retap with a oversize bolt when I put it all ack together this week. Garhauer had the exact footprint for the base of the stanchions, but their stock stanchions are 24" so they custom built the stanchions to 26" to match mine....3 stanchions and the 2 stanchion gate pieces for me all for $388, A GREAT DEAL! You have to love that company!
