Line cutterI'd like to add a line cutter to the prop shaft. But there does not appear to be any space for one. The zinc takes up all the room on the shaft.Suggestions? |

I'm not really sure. You shouldn't remove he zinc so the only other option may be a longer prop shaft. However the opening probably isn't big enough to allow for that as it will put the prop up against the rudder, or at least too close degrading its performance.
If you have a problem with things getting caught on your prop while sailing, you may want to consider a folding prop where the blades fold back into a tapered arrangement. The ones they make today are much more efficient than the ones developed even 10 years ago, you can get them in 2- or 3-blade configurations, and when sailing the folded or tapered profile should all but eliminate catching things. However you still have the strut, rudder, etc. |

Did you put the cutter between the zinc & the prop? |

well that is a very good question...I do not know the answer to that since the boat yard that did the re-commissioning of the boat after I had her hauled from Port Townsend to Texas did the work. I did see the line cutter before they put it on and it is extremely sharp so be sure to be carefull around it when cleaning the bottom or be sure to tell the diver who cleans your bottom about it so he is aware and will be mindful of it. |

You have an E-42? Cutter between the zinc & the prop? I'm guessing I can switch to a narrower zinc. Might loose a bit of mass in the zinc. |
