Hurth trasmission on E-42 with Perkins engineFYI
I have an E-42 with Perkins 4.154 & Hurth trans. Question is, which Hurth trans? My research found some reference to a 250 or HBW250. But on the ZF site it only shows a 25. Called ZF Marine in Florida and was given the details.
When ZF bought out Hurth, they changed the nomenclature from a 250 to 25.
So any references to a ZF 25M are the same as the old HBW250 which was used with the Perkins 4.154.
I have operation manuals and repair manuals from ZF in pdf format. PM me if you would like a copy

Yea I recently found out the same when I sent my perkins 4-108 and hurth trans in to be rebuilt.
Also found that the old hurth trans are not rebuildable so they recomended a new one, and it was on backorder for 1 1/2 months. Should be on its way monday the 26 of Oct.
BTW, a new Hurth ZF12m, with 2.63 reduction, cost me 1500 at TAD. Would have been more if I was only buying the trans.
