E37 Dodger

I recently purchased an 82' E37 and plan to buy a dodger frame. First mate has a sailrite and can make the dodger. How does the dodger mount on the teak or on the cockpit side? Anyone have the deminsions for haveing the frame made? Any help is appreciated.

Anyone have pics of an e37 dodger and how it mounts along with measurements?

Dodger

The Dodger should be mounted onto the teak with SS scews.  In my opinion, a rigid frame installation would be best, as you will, inevitably, use the frame for a grab hold when entering and leaving the cockpit.  Please note that by choosing to install the dodger, you will lose that wonderful space on the starboard cabin top for sitting, looking aft to the helm and pontificating to the crew ... (sigh).  I am not sure of the exact dimensions of our frame, but any competent installer can do the measuring for you.  We like the sunbrella fabric that is waterproof.  Works great.  The learning curve for making the pattern and sewing is steep, but a worthy challenge.  Remember, measure twice. Cut once.  If you'd like, I can forward some pics of our dodger to you.  Here in Florida, we just couldn't live without it,  nor the bimini.

E37 Dodger

Slipf18, Thanks for the input. Yes, please send any pics. Mate has a sailrite machine, we have the material, mate wants to give it a shot so if things go wrong we will go to plan B.
We do have a bimini and I agree that it is nice to have.
The Data Marine depth guage display is dead so sending that to DMI to repair.
