Bow Thruster on an Endeavour 42 or 43I own an 1989 Endeavour 42 Center Cockpit, Hull 231, and would like to install a bow thruster.
Is there anyone who has done this?
What size unit did they use? For either a 42' or 43'
Are they now able to control the bow while backing into a slip?
Does it fit under the V-Berth?
Did they need to modify the forward holding tank?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, Gary

Gary:
I have an 81 Endeavour 43 Ketch and I installed a Vetus 210lb 12v bow thruster and I could not be happier. In the 43 I only needed to modify the storage locker aft of the chain locker and it worked out quite well. I have also installed a group 31 battery in that space, to run the thruster and eliminating a long power run for the windless.
In performance, I can operate the thruster and turn the vessel 360 degrees without any forward or aft drift in calm conditions. With wind or tides, it becomes more calculated but greatly assists close quarter docking.
