better traveller controlsI have an E-42. The traveller is on the cockpit coaming with stops. No latteral controls. I've seen the traveller moved to the coachroof but I don't want to do that. Is there an easy way to rig controlls to move the traveller laterally?

By cockpit coaming are you talking about the bridge deck---the space right in front of the companionway? It depends on the traveler. If you look through the Harken or Lewmar catalogs you'll see that they have travelers with with turning blocks and cams on the ends of the travelers. You can also get them on the car itself but I don't think that's what you want. I have seen people put a turning block on the cockpit walls instead of on the traveler but it's not as clean and could create trip lines. You may also be able to find a fairlead on a swivel that could attache to the top outside end of the traveler but an actual turning block will have much less friction.

This is on an E-42, center cockpit. The traveller is mounted close behind the helm seat on the teak coaming. It is curved following the curve of the coaming.
