BALMAR ARS-5Gents,
Just wanted to give a "heads-up" on a factory faulty BALMAR ARS-5 that we installed on our E40 generator two years ago.
While running the Perkins 4-108 and the generator at the same time, voltage on the GSM's would climb to 17 or 18 VOLTS........
After paying WARDS MARINE in Ft Lauderdale to trouble-shoot the problem, the tech determined that the BALMAR ARS-5 was faulty, giving random readings while underway.
A call to the nice BALMAR people initiated the shipping of a new, advanced regulator from BALMAR AT NO CHARGE.
They admitted that there has been a number of reports of defective regulators and BALMAR will replace them if contacted.
Just wanted everyone to know in case you have one of these regulators.
