AC phasing and panlke alarm lightI have an 82' E37. My questions are:
1. When the ignition key is turned to "on" before start should the panel alarm light come on as a lamp test? Mine does not.
2. When I swith the ac phase test switch the ac phase light comes on. This mean it is out of phase?
Thanks for any help.

AC phase test switchwrt the AC phase switch. Mine has spring-loaded 'test' position. It is normal for the red light to be on during the 'test'. If it is on at other times, you have a problem....maybe.

1. The engine panel alarm is connected to an oil pressure sensor. When the engine is not running there isn't any oil pressure and the light and/or buzzer should light/ sound. Having the light come on checks not only the light bulb, but also all of the connections and sensor as functioning
2. The phase rev. light and the test switch, which is mometary, indicate that you have AC power to the panel. When the switch is released and the light stays on then you have a rev polarity situation.

E37 QuestionsJMADDEN, Thanks for clearing that up. looks like I need to look into the alarm light issue. Might just be the bulb.
