2nd location for HIN on Endeavour 40?

My husband and I are trying to buy an Endeavour 40. The HIN plate has been either broken off or purposely removed from the transom. Does anyone know where the 2nd location of this number would be? We really can't move forward until it is found. Any ideas would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Jen

HIN location

The hull number should be stamped or painted on a structural member in the forward cabin. I think ours is on an athwartship support inside the anchor chain locker.
It should be in the form: "ENC40 (sequential number) M (2 digit year of manufacture) C".
Usually the sequential number is on the sail (if it's original) and/or written on the back of the woodwork in the interior (drawers, panels, etc).
If you know the year of manufacture, that should give you enough info to derive the HIN.

Jen,

If anyone has difficulty locating their hull number, please feel free to contact me and I can (most likely) get it for you. We have more than 800 of the all the Endeavours ever built, documented in our database.

ours is painted in the locker under the port side of the vberth. A PO painted around it but not over it...lol. I think I will paint it and afix new numbers.
But most of the drawers and furniture have some numbers on it as well.
Also it should be on the log book... it they kept it up.
