I have a 1979 E32 and the aluminum tank has failed and needs to be replaced. The tank is located under the aft port cockpit area and is about 30 x 24 x 7" Does anyone have any experience removing and replacing a tank like this? _________________ 1979 E32 owner |

Ted,
Our web site has a number of discussions about replacing the fuel tanks on
Endeavours. What is required is that you remove part of the floor replace
the tank then replace the floor. The tank is relatively inexpensive, the
labor to do the floor is where the cost is, but you get a new floor.
Practical Sailor recommends this process but also suggests that the new tank
be supported off the bottom of the bilge. I won't go into the details here
but I'd be happy to go into it if you'd like.
